PRACTICE OVERVIEW

Krista was called to the bar in 2007. Her practice has been focused on administrative, labour and employment law since 2008.

Workplace Investigations

Krista helps employers in the Atlantic Provinces find the best path forward when dealing with allegations of discrimination or harassment. When tensions in the workplace are running high and productivity is compromised, Krista provides employers with a legally defensible option at a reasonable cost.

She engages with complainants, respondents and witnesses with sensitivity and objectivity. Krista’s journalistic background helps her to produce reports that are thorough and readable, and always within the parameters of her mandate.

Take a moment to read Krista's blog posts where she tackles some of the common questions for employers when it comes to workplace investigations, and other employment and labour issues.

Written Advocacy

When not conducting workplace investigations, Krista is happiest wrestling with complex questions of law and crafting legal arguments that may contribute to the development of the common law.

Administrative law and appellate advocacy

Krista loves administrative law and appellate advocacy. Most frequently she is involved with judicial reviews, labour arbitrations, interest arbitrations, workers' compensation claims, human rights complaints, and wrongful dismissal claims.

Background

Before joining the group in 2008, Krista served as a research clerk to the judges of the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal and articled on Bay Street in Toronto. On the home-front Krista tries her best to keep up with her two boys, one of whom is a busy toddler. She also enjoys cooking, especially cuisine from her native Southern California.
