PROFESSIONAL OVERVIEW

Katie was called to the Nova Scotia Bar and joined the Barteaux Durnford team in 2018. She gained a broad variety of legal experience,  including labour and employment law, while articling at a full-service law firm in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Katie completed an internship with the Office of the Municipal Clerk at Halifax City Hall. She also worked at Doctors Nova Scotia, the professional association representing physicians across the province.

PERSONAL OVERVIEW

During law school, Katie participated in moots, enjoying both internal and external competitions. She served as Vice-President of the University of Manchester Mooting and Advocacy Society.

Katie also contributed to the Manchester Law Review, as Editor and as a contributing writer for the monthly law student magazine.

While earning her bachelor degree in science and biology at St. Francis Xavier University, Katie was a middle-distance runner on the track and field team. 

Outside of work, Katie enjoys running, hiking, sailing and spending time with her toy poodle, Rory.
